The interactive Media and Language Center serves the students and faculty of the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures. The facility is located on the third floor of the Draper Academic Building, suite 356 and room 355. The Center strives to be a model for technology-assisted language teaching and learning. MLC students are encouraged and supported in their language-learning journey while faculty members are encouraged and supported in their language acquisition pedagogy and associated technology.

It is an official language in 29 countries, and it has over 320 million speakers hailing from 112 different countries and territories. The number of French speakers is expected to grow exponentially over the next few decades: 518 million in 2025, 572 million in 2030, and over a billion in 2065.

At Baylor University we teach Modern Standard Arabic, the written variety used throughout the contemporary Arab World, as well as basic interactive use of spoken Syrian or Levantine Arabic and Spoken Egyptian Arabic, two of the most widely used native dialects.
