This program provides a meaningful two-week summer experience focused on studying the liberal arts for Waco-area high school students, particularly those who are first-generation college-bound, and connects them with mentors from Baylor’s Honors College who support them throughout the following academic year.
The University Scholars Program is designed for very bright, creative, and self-motivated students who wish to become better read, to devote themselves to the liberal arts, and to express their creativity by participating in a program that includes a component of self-expression.
The Great Texts Program was established in 2002, and is a part of the Honors College
The Honors Residential College is a multi-year community that fosters intellectual, moral, and spiritual formation through friendship, integrated study, community service, and spiritual engagement. The HRC is home to 330 Baylor students enrolled in one of the Honors College majors or programs (Baylor Interdisciplinary Core, University Scholars, Great Texts, Honors Program). The HRC is located in Alexander and Memorial Halls.
The Honors Program, established in 1959, is designed to enhance and enrich the academic experience of talented, highly motivated students at Baylor University.
