The Baylor Libraries originated on the Baylor campus in Independence in 1845 and have evolved with the university's move to Waco in 1886, the construction of Carroll Library in 1903, the opening of Armstrong Browning Library & Museum in 1951, the building of Moody Memorial Library in 1968, the addition of the W. R. Poage Legislative Library in 1979, the Jesse H. Jones Library expansion in 1992, the emergence of Library and Academic Technology Services in 2001, the onboarding of the Keston Center for Religion, Politics, and Society in 2007, and the welcoming of the Institute for Oral History in 2016. 

Located on the Baylor University campus, the Mayborn Museum Complex features a natural science and cultural history museum focusing on Central Texas, with walk-in dioramas including one on the Waco Mammoth Site, and exploration stations for geology, paleontology, archaeology, and natural history. In addition to the natural history exhibits, there are two floors of themed discovery rooms that encourage hands-on learning for all ages.

The Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village was donated to Baylor University in 1985 by the Daniel Family. The structures were relocated from Liberty, Texas to Baylor’s campus in 1986, where they now reside along the banks of the Brazos River. Today, the nine wood-frame buildings that comprise the village, provide a glimpse into the past, bringing to life a community in the 1890s.

Baylor University Press is the academic book publishing arm of Baylor University. Established in 1897, Baylor University Press publishes around forty new academic titles each year. The Press publishes technical scholarship for researchers, tools for teachers, and textbooks for students. All Press publications under our primary academic imprint enjoy rigorous peer review and project development. 

The central libraries, special libraries and resource centers of Baylor house more than 1.6 million bound volumes, more than 2.8 million microforms and government document pieces and thousands of audio-visual items, maps, charts and photographs.

Established in 1923, The Texas Collection is a special library, archival research center, and the University Archive that collects, preserves, and provides access to materials documenting the history, heritage, and culture of Texas for the Baylor community and the public.

The W. R. Poage Legislative Library is part of Baylor University Libraries, functioning as a research facility which collects congressional records and personal papers related to the political history of Central Texas. It was established in 1979 in honor of Congressman W.R. Poage, Baylor alumnus and retired public official whose career spanned over fifty years.

The Pruit Memorial Symposium brings the perspective of the Christian intellectual tradition to contemporary issues of common concern. Since 2013, this annual symposium has focused on the tradition of American black sacred music in conjunction with the Black Gospel Music Restoration project of the Baylor Libraries. The Armstrong Browning Library is a research library devoted to the study of the lives and works of the Victorian poets, Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Privately funded by Baylor University, but free and open to the public, it houses the world's largest collection of books, manuscripts, and memorabilia pertaining to the Brownings. The Library also contains a heavy concentration of materials on the Victorian era, especially those literary figures who were contemporaries and associates of the Brownings.

Welcome to the Sheridan & John Eddie Williams Legal Research and Technology Center. Our primary clientele consists of the faculty and students of Baylor Law School. We also serve the Baylor University academic community, members of the practicing bar, and the general public.

It is physically and fiscally impossible for the Baylor Libraries to own every document or information resource needed to support all scholarly activities of its clients. Interlibrary Services is a dedicated team of men and women in the Libraries who try to locate the desired items in other collections around the world and then try to obtain them for temporary use by our clients.
