Baylor University established the J. M. Dawson Institute of Church-State Studies in 1957. The Institute is the oldest and most well established facility exclusively devoted to research in the broad field of church and state and the advancement of religious liberty around the world.

The Middle East is the cradle of both Western civilization and its major religious traditions: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. The Middle East Studies minor is interdepartmental and interdisciplinary, designed to provide students with a broad introduction to the region, and provides the student with an opportunity to travel to the Middle East for study at the American University in Cairo.
Located in the heart of Dallas, the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing prepares baccalaureate and graduate level nurses, within a Christian community for professional practice, healthcare leadership and worldwide serve. There are more than 830 students enrolled at the LHSON including pre-nursing students who spend their first two years at Baylor University’s Waco campus or other universities around the country. Faculty and staff work together to create an environment where students may develop the professional leadership skills necessary to excel in patient care and the critical thinking skills to meet the needs and demands of the profession.
